Bandra 2BHK Viral Tour: Corporate Lawyer’s ₹80–90K Rent Flat Called “Priceless” Amid Massive Online Reaction
A viral Instagram video from Mumbai’s Bandra shows a corporate lawyer’s 2BHK 800 sq ft flat with ₹80–90K rent, shared with a roommate in a 60/40 split. The tour highlights emotional living, eviction story, and strong online reactions to rising Mumbai rental costs.
The woman reveals that she pays approximately ₹80,000 to ₹90,000 as monthly rent for her apartment. She further states that the flat is located in Bandra and spans 800 square feet. When asked to show the apartment, she warmly invites him inside, describing it as her “small home” where “everything from the bathroom to the bedroom is compact but very beautiful.”
During the tour, she highlights various personal elements of her home, stating that she loves her sofa as it is the first place she lies down after returning from work. She also points out that her refrigerator carries magnets from all the places she has travelled to, which she considers a decorative feature that also functions as a bar.
The woman explains that she shares the two-bedroom apartment with a roommate. While showing her room, she mentions that it is her personal space and adds that she is a big fan of BTS and enjoys collecting postcards from different places. She further notes that the house receives ample sunlight throughout the day. She also shows a small bathroom, remarking that “Bandra flats are like this.”
When asked about rent distribution, she explains that since her room is larger, she pays a higher share, with the rent split in a 60/40 ratio. She also identifies herself as a corporate lawyer by profession.
Discussing how she secured the apartment, she reveals that she previously shared a room with her sister, but they were forced to leave after a complaint regarding overcrowding in the house. She states that they had only seven days to find a new home and managed to move into the current apartment within three days. She describes the flat as small but “priceless” due to the emotional memories attached to it, adding that finding a good home in Mumbai is extremely difficult.
The viral video has triggered strong reactions online. One user commented that only in Mumbai could an 800-square-foot home cost nearly ₹1 lakh in rent. Another remarked that Bandra rent is not for the weak-hearted. A user also said the house feels warm and homely, while another wrote that the rent alone was enough to cause a “heart attack.” Another reaction highlighted that while Mumbai homes may be small, their stories are large.
The incident reflects the continuing conversation around Mumbai’s soaring rental prices and the emotional value residents attach to their compact living spaces in one of India’s most expensive housing markets.
